Topic change soz: I picked up a (beaten up, but still functioning) Mesa M-Pulse 600 head from cash converters. The rack case is totally destroyed, and I need a new one.

Before I look at rack cases, does anyone have an empty Mesa head case lying around?

Fuzz dog stuff is sweet!
Have you already ordered? I would go in on a couple of PCB's if you haven't
Already have sorry, forgot to order knobs though... doh!

Same. Unfortunately the previous owner seemed to mistreat this one. Bent and broken bits everywhere. Worst bit is that it looks like the amp must have been dropped or knocked over with a jack in. The input is totally threaded and, it’s hard to see, but the metal “hole” it pokes through on the inner case is fully warped bro:

Darglass Alpha Omega into the desk. I usually play along with EzDrummer.
Mind posting a photo of your darkglass settings? Interested to see how you EQ it etc as my clone one I’ve been playing with quite a bit and have fairly neutral settings but the table almost off as it adds hiss as you turn it up…

Much of my time is through hd300 - got a great bass model, or the eleven rack - again great bass model. Into Samson Resolv A8 monitors or headphones. If the missus is out I crank through the bugera, surprisingly good. I still have a headrush but I don't know why, I should sell it as it doesn't get plugged in anymore.

I can make whatever your heart desires.... so can JB but that would be in a different way.
Happy to build a shell, I presume its just a 19" rack size? I'm still struggling to get tweed, anything else is possible.

Most excellent. I will send you a message! Thinking more like a classic Ampeg look but not fussy about materials.

I practice three or four times a week through a 300W Valve Amp

Critical to feel the bass

hercules wrote: Wed Nov 09, 2022 8:30 am I find the biggest limitation of small combos is that they're almost always a single speaker. For not much more floor space (but much more coin) a Markbass or Ampeg 2x10 combo sounds way better and will perform admirably at small gigs. Single speakers always sound shite to me; it's not a volume thing but punch and presence. In fact, I find multi-speaker cabs can be used lower in volume and 'feel' bigger.

Maybe not relevant for a practice amp scenario, but I kinda feel that a bass practice amp should be able to keep up with a drummer.
The new little combos are miles better than the crap I grew up with in the 1980’s

I have a tiny ass Fender Rumble that handles a low B with no stress.

Yes a band practice bass amp has to keep with a drummer
