Radian JM
~ Mahogany body in gloss white
~ Maple Modern neck, 22 jumbo frets, satin natural lacquer
~ Bareknuckle Nailbomb through a single volume pot
~ Strung 13-62, tuned to Drop-B
~ Playing its first gig tonight - not sure where or the band name, but it will be loud and heavy.

Last one for the year... It was actually finished ages ago, but I've been mixing and matching pickups to find the best set for it. In these pictures is a custom-wound Ash set, but it currently wears a DiMarzio set: FRED, Fast Track, Pro Track all in white.

The body is one piece of Opotiki-grown blackwood. Amazing looking stuff, related to koa:

Maple neck, rosewood fretboard, Tusq nut, Gotoh tuners, glow-in-the-dark logo:

Gloss lacquer all over - is intended end up purple in the fullness of time, but it's too pretty naked to go unpublished:

I'll be dragging this one to Napier/Welly/Chch in the next few weks.

2012, a decade ago was a great year for Ash, at least going from this thread and visiting the shop.
A decade can seem to fly by, but so much has changed. Two years later, this guy would pack it all up. Talented mofo.
I always wanted the shop helio.

I'd like to thank this forum for documenting these fantastic guitars built by Ash Customworks.

Earlier this year, I was looking for a guitar with P90s. I was lucky to have found this Radian Les Paul selling on Trademe by Nik (who has said he posts on NZGuitars.com). It came installed with Mr Glyn's "Black Sand" pickups and Hipshot tuners. Neck thru design. I was surprised how light it was.

If it wasn't for this thread, I wouldn't have bought this (I would have probably settled for an inferior Epiphone SG Special P90 Faded for around the same price). I was also lucky that the seller categorised the auction under 'Guitar -> Other' instead of 'Guitar -> Electric Guitars', possibly limiting the number of page visits by a significant amount.

Great score man! I'd wager it beats the pants off anything commercially available at that price.
