Rounds on a P is verboten
Isn't that the sound of rawkkkkkkk!

I really like half-rounds on it. I have a Weta P as well, a weird one that Dave gifted me, with a P-90 in the neck and normal P pickup in the bridge, one I got from you IIRC. That sounded really ultra-spanky with weird overtones.
So a humbucker at the Neck and a P at the bridge?

Kev did have a Weta but I don’t remember it having 2 pick ups

Halfwounds are an acquired taste. I don’t have any instruments strung with Half’s anymore and I don’t think I’ve even got any spare sets

Half rounds feel sticky for a while, but then your bits of skin etc stick in them and they feel like flats. Only took a couple of days before they felt good.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I’ve not tried the Blue flats. However the Black flats are amazing but sadly no longer made

Sharp price and a good guy

anything other than stainless are probably rusty as fuck.... I have a boatload of labella double ball guitar strings, kept in a tupperware container, from about 10 years ago. Black and nasty, but hey - they may come in handy one day.

spent a bit of time fettling my P-Bass this week, lowered the pickup right down, shimmed the neck so I had more action adjustment and now its sounding and feeling way better with the roundwounds. They're still spanky but I'm sure they'll dull down over time....

Need some half-rounds for the weta though.

Have you tried GHS Pressurewound? I quite like them, only tried them by accident, they came fitted on a Bass I bought.

I haven't, I've just been through non-descript round, half-round and flats. Though the flats are stainless, could be GHS.

Not sold on the EMG GZR’s in my Lakland.

Anyone got a vintage/60’s style p bass pickup they’d like to part with, or even better a PJ set?
