Me band has a new album!

Post by sirvill »

Hey hey crew,

My Melodic Funeral Doom band, Bleed This Earth, have just put out our second album - The Slow Decline.

All "home studio" recorded - I'm all the rhythm guitars on my custom Archetype Guitars baritone into Helix Native, and all the leads are the other guitarist on a Strat of all things :D Then mixed and mastered by our drummer, who also sings. Oh and the bass? That's me too, just my guitar pitch shifted down an octave like we do live.

Anyway check it out if you like - beware is not-clean singing, its very slow (as is custom) and heavy but also sad? Anyway if you like Ahab, Mournful Congregation, My Dying Bride (ie old school 90's english doom inspired stuff) then you might dig it.

Sounds good. Not having actual bass on the album is also totally in the spirit of old funeral doom eg Thergothon and Skepticism haha.
Amps:

Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A

Very Heavy
I don’t remember hearing much music like this before

The tempo or at least β€˜rhythmic space’ makes me feel like the music could lilt, March, waltz, fall over.

Well done you guys. Just bring a Bass Player next time

Fuck yeah, so good! Hefty. Awesome use of space. I find it really hard to play reaally slow and stay that tight (and having seen you guys live, I know that's not just studio trickery...)

Vinyl? :zomg:

The secret, unfortunately, is a click track

Vinyl is not out of the realms of possibility
