How about a Loar LH-319 ?rickenbackerkid wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 12:01 pm Some lovely instruments here chaps. I'm not sure why the hollow thing is so attractive to me but I'm a big fan, even of the more chambered type instruments such as my Rick and Maton. I've always wanted a full hollow and so one day I intend to buy and then butcher one of these:
I'll install a bridge pickup, install some type of fixed bridge and in the perfect world, bind the fretboard.

Have posted this on another thread before, but this is a nasty-ass hollowbody tone that I'd listen to all day.

Base, saddle or both?

One of the darkest jokes shared on the forum. Nice work.

You are going to have to provide a pic on this, I have no idea what type of bridge you are talking about, never seen a plastic archtop bridge. I have rosewood ones and a Grestch type space saver somewhere and different bases and tops/saddles.

Re: Hollow and Semi-Hollow guitars thread
We all have our idiosyncrasies I suppose
It all started long, long ago when I bought an SA-60 semi hollow on TM, attracted by the original Yamaha '335 styling'. Quite liked it. When an SA-30 came up on TM a bit later that had been in or very close to a fire, I bought it as a project. Turned out to be a very big project requiring the back to come off, etc. Anyway, I really liked how solidly it was constructed and the Japanese workmanship applied. No shortcuts taken even on the inside. Got intrigued why Yamaha did not bother just making a 335 copy but designed the whole thing from scratch instead. Even the pickups, which were in those days very unusual. Once you read up on it, there 's a whole cult following on them
Anyway, some like strats, some like LPs, some Teles, I like the Superaxes.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
