Unexciting but necessary gear…

Post by jeremyb »

Power supplies have to be one of the worst things you have to spend money on, so having spent a lot in the past on them I’m always looking for a cheaper alternative now and up until yesterday I was running the Caline P5 which was lovely, 5 super quiet transformer isolated outputs, but I needed more current so I just picked this Harley Benton up. It’s got 10 transformer isolated outputs, 6 @ 9V / 250ma and 4 @ 9/12/18V and 450ma! Awesome.

Unexciting AF but quite useful gear cheaply purchased

- Toolbag I got at Bunnings for $20 that fits my Katana Head perfectly as a carry case
- 100x 20cm cable ties purchased for 5 bucks because fuck you, velcro.
- Foldable hand truck, $30
- Spare bag/carry case for my pedalboard found on FB Marketplace just a few km from my house, and $10. Different brand to mine but identical.

Yep - this one i think, it won't zip up, but it's made it easier to transport the amp to and from practise room.

I just use it to turn two 2x12 configurations into a 4x12 configuration. I also have a polarity reverse from when I had a Two Rock that was wired 'inconvenient'.

I have a few sets of surgical clamps that make soldering so much easier. They also act as a heat sink so can be positioned to protect parts. Couldn't be without them.
