I’m in the same position, years ago my flatmate at the time owned one that was hanging on the wall in the lounge and I played that almost every week for two years and I did enjoy it, been semi open to buying one but never pulled the trigger and I’m pretty sure I just prefer goldfoil pickups in a hollow body hifi/lowfi greasy funk black keys goodness, but I probably just don’t have enough experience with a great Gretsch.

Had the exact same one. My favourite style of the falcons except it needs a wobble stick.

Man you need a Gretsch in your life. I reckon a Tele and a Gretsch would do me, maybe something with humbuckers too.
I've got the Suhr T and S, so that's my Tele and Strat sorted. The ES-335 is a stayer too, everything else is malleable!
Yea those three will do it, get a Filtertron something in there and nothing you can’t do

P-90 for me also has to be on that list. I'm almost there: Strat, Tele, 335, P90. But this thread has confirmed the need for something Gretshcy.
