Bored Sunday bidding war on Silverface Champ

Post by Voxshall »

Anyone on here involved in the bidding war with me on the Silverface champ, I'd like to give them first dibs if I sell it. I didn't even need the amp I was procrastinating learning songs and was more interested how much people would overpay for it, then accidentally ended up winning it and being the chump that overpaid. Anyway I do feel slightly guilty about it. Hope it sounds alright I don't know anything about them, other than small amps are really getting more popular lately and it's not easy finding vintage Fender amps that work for NZ power without a step down, unless I'm just not hanging out in the right circles who has all the vintage tweeds?

Missed that. Original?

And this is exactly why auctions work!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

That feeling of buyers' remorse. It's lower than the high of bidding.

Link to the auction?

I wouldn't say I have buyers remorse I'm just a bit shocked at how I ended up getting it. I just stumbled upon it just as it was closing and there were lots of bids going and before I knew it I was joining in on the action, Slowys right I just got caught up in the excitement and then my girlfriend started egging me on and before you know it I was way to invested. Anyway it comes with the original speaker but also a Warehouse G8C speaker which was designed for a Champ, it gives the amp more solid tight bass and an extra boost of volume, with the advance of speakers and need for lower stage volumes I think the Champs are like the Princetons of yesteryear. It's also a handy size for taking away on trips I hope it's loud enough for band practice but if not it's a great grab and go practice amp.

Here is how it sounds with the G8C speaker

Congrats, it’s way more fun if it works out when it’s spontaneous

I've only tried two vintage tweed amps one in Australia and one in the States but didn't really gel with them at the time. I hardly ever see them in New Zealand but heard a guy in Tauranga has a few. I found the Victoria Champ way to dark, is yours a Deluxe?
