The Duovette (the guitar Gretsch didn't make)

Post by Jay »

On the home stretch now, so a dedicated thread for the last bits and bobs. Just to explain the title again for the uninitiated - body size, scale length, pickup layout as per Duojet 6128, while body shape and F holes are as per a Corvette 6187 and the head stock shape as per a Corvette 6132.

Someone asked me how will you set the neck into the body? Here's the answer:

Image

Before routing the pickup openings for TVJ Classics, I want to be sure all the parts are correctly positioned, so mock-up time.

Image

Routing the pickup openings for TV Jones Classics with the use of a template. The making of the template took about an hour while the actual routing of the pickup openings was done in 15 minutes...

All done:

Happy :D

That is looking killer!!!

have you made any decisions on colour?

If you're not going to have it ready for Slowyfest... I think Slowyfest needs to be postponed!!! :-)

Agreed, but I want this one coloured some sort of red which will look really cool with the green/brownie puriri frteboard and bridge. The neck and back will stay natural

Pak'n'Save stain? Is that food colouring? If so, doesn't look like Billy Joel approves! assuming that's him...
