Some nice templates you made there! I see you have a 44mm nut dimension. How do you set up your string spacing for that please?
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Hi Jay - I do have a Stewnac nut ruler...but I also sometimes use a 44mm (actually 43.6 or something) pre-slotted nut alank. You still have to finesse the slots but is takes away some of the grief!

How come you need a layer between the top and the back? is it because the top is too thin?

don't need it - its a design choice. I don't much like plastic binding but I like the way a different colour at the outline helps define the shape. I tried this back at Number 14 or so...and really liked the look.

On the last build I introduced the veneers into the equation. that had 9 layers because it had a separate back as well...the combination of a sandwich layer and the veneers gives an aesthetic that I like. On these two Im going to play with the cutaway carving as well to bring the lines even more to the front.

Nice work Lawrence! Is the width of the neck template cut to the exact same dimension as the neck pocket? Did the acrylic templates cost much to get cut (if you don't mind me asking)?
