NGD - Gibson LEs Paul Classic
Picked this up the other day. It's a 2016 Gibson Les Paul Classic. It's got locking tuners and the Classic+ humbucker in the bridge, and a stunning top. No flame, but lots of grain, and some 3d looking burls (is that what you call them?) Doesn't have a mark on it - and could easily pass as a new guitar. I got it cheap, with the intention of selling it on again, but I'm really enjoying it

Nice one, Danny.
There have been a couple of cheap Les Pauls on TM just lately. For a long time there you couldn't get a Standard for close to $2k but just recently there have been a couple.

I know, I've been keeping a bit of an eye out, and it's been hard to pick one up cheaply - super happy to pick this one up

since we on the topic of LPC, what do you Gibby experts think of this? Is it worth $2200 without the original case?

No idea. Nice checking though.KNNZ wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:29 pm since we on the topic of LPC, what do you Gibby experts think of this? Is it worth $2200 without the original case?

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: NGD - Gibson LEs Paul Classic
the checking is nice, but with massive checking like that, does it indicate it was stored in less than ideal conditions?

Does this one have the yellowed inlays? Hard to tell. They're not everybody's cup of tea.KNNZ wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 1:29 pm since we on the topic of LPC, what do you Gibby experts think of this? Is it worth $2200 without the original case?

Nice. I actually prefer that type of top to a flame. Its very similar to what I have on 2011 P90 60's reissue.AiRdAd wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 12:13 pm Picked this up the other day. I admit, I'm a sucker for a really nice flame, but this one is growing on meIMOCD wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 2:48 pmNice. I actually prefer that type of top to a flame. If anything, I'd like to see more of that grain and less of the burst....AiRdAd wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 2:50 pmI admit, I'm a sucker for a really nice flame, but this one is growing on meIMOCD wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 2:48 pmNice. Here is my 2011 60's reissue that I refinished (minus strings). The twat that I bought it from made an attempt at faux binding and screwed up monumentally. Tried to fix it but nah, no good, so during lockdown I decided to take it back to bare wood an oil it. Shame, lighting is quite bad, but the grain on the upper bout is very similar to yours.
Not sold on the mini hums, so likely go back to original p90's and thinking I'll go back to silver top hats as the chrome knobs don't rely gel with the bigsby.
