Good to see a few are getting pulled. Pisses me off how he still has Gibson in the title for his shitty DIY kit SG listing

Could someone break all this down for me?

I see a reoccurring character that I dont know much about as it started while I was on forum holiday... is it denche? or something worse.

The guy was selling a Lucielle recently? Confused... but this sounds interesting.. I saw those capos with the headstock bandaid..

He goes by many names, usually Martin Napier, but his real name is Martin James Mailley, he did a runner from $2M of fraud in Australia, his missus got 6 months there for her part, but he avoided extradition by claiming all manner of health issues, somehow he ended up the nz bogner agent, and got his trademe user banned for bad behaviour... Now he's flogging off Chinese guitars with wooden badges on the headstock, he even did one that said bogner... Nightmare.

So where does Rod Capper fit in with all this? As far as I knew, Rod is a respected luthier making some nice stuff. He sold me some ebony once. Nice guy.

Is goldplated Rod? Or is he just dragging his name into the whole mess?

Dragging his name into it, apparently the chinese guitars (previously he said were made in NZ) are setup by Rod, but weirdly goldplated's email address is on the Rod Capper facebook page, so perhaps he's close friends??? either way I'd not want my good name tarnished by this sort of behaviour.

My first draft was shooting straight and then I thought, what if they are mates? So toned it down a fair bit. If no response then a call would be more appropriate perhaps.

Rod might not know this guy's history as a con man & might not be aware of the negative publicity that he is now getting.
