Yep, it was a lovely sounding tube. Tbh It went south while I was using the other channel on the amp. I rarely use the ef86 channel but it always has to be on I guess. Lucky I had a spare. Need a new one now too!

I think i've an old Telefunken I removed from my HC30 years ago as it was a bit noisey ( bacon an eggs on the go scenario) but your welcome to it as a spare. Brian may be headed down here over the hols, if so I'll give it to him to pass on.
Cheers buddy

I built a Trinity TC15 head which is similar to the Artisan 30. Was after that Vox Matchless thing. I still have it.

Hello... the EF86 is a pentode not a triode,so it operates like an output tube.It has a gain factor of 150 vs 100 for a 12AX7 so it kicks it up a notch.
Take a look at the EF86 18 watt marshall layout on Ceriatone's website for how to hook it up.

What a bargain, well done! I'm all good as I've got a nice sounding, quiet, Russian winged-C EF86 in my Trinity TC15 head. EF86's are prone to microphonics because as pentodes in a small enclosure it's hard to make all those parts robust. Best in a head!
