Any Presonus Studio One Users?

Post by jeremyb »

Going to give the free version a go and see how it compares to Reaper, they seem to have bundled all the good stuff from other DAWs into it!

Yup.

Way better, smoother , intuitive than reaper in my opinion.

Its geared towards a drag n drop quick setup so you get recording harder better faster stronger

I know it's a bit fickle but I do find reaper unintuitive, clunky, and ugly! Garageband on my Mac book rocks  but I have a dedicated PC for recording now so need something compatible :(

I use studio one. I like it a lot but I dont have much comparison to go by. It came with some hardware and I liked it enough to upgrade to thw full version.

I rep reaper hard, but ive put a lot of hours into it.I found it a breeze having started with cool edit/audition-i guess its totally a case of YMMV. A bandmate had studio one but his presonus device crapped out so ive tried to get him into reaper instead.

Just had a quick look at some demos on YT. It seems syncing video to audio recorded from a different mic is not as straightforward as Reaper. The wee handful of demos I saw didn't seem to have a way of lining up the waveforms from the video to an audio from a different mic.

Hehehe. They're fine really. Only trouble is the usual PC lack of standards.
I don't know if you know Michelle who owns Rock Factory with her husband. She was in bands with Kristie back in the day too.

Anyways, during lockdown she was hired to do customer support for SourceConnect. A cross platform software for online audio collaboration.
Michelle ranting on FB about trouble shooting windows... "Most of the time you can get something working if you do it in the correct order. But it's bloody annoying."
"And then there are the ones that you just can't fix. Those are black holes. Just get a mac. Even an old one will run it better."
