I'm dealing with a dispute over my pedal. They offered a refund to PayPal but that's no use to me. PITA.
You can get your paypal credit put into your bank account
I just pay by credit card on AliExpress and any refunds have just gone back onto that

That's the problem; everything rewarding is just such hard work. Regret takes much less effort.
Yeah, but it's a bit like when The Warehouse overcharges you then wants your fucking life story before some jobsworth can complete their process and give you your dollar back. There's no point in arguing with them because they only know 'the procedure' and aren't employed or trained to do anything else. I could set up a PayPal account but why the fuck should I? I said they can re-credit my credit card or resend the item.

How the fuck do you buy so much spendy stuff WITHOUT PayPal?
It's much safer than plugging your Credit Card details into websites with varying levels of privacy, security and possible IT cluelessness.

I've just never needed it. I don't buy that much spendy stuff at all really.

I've just never had my credit card details stolen and drained, that I am aware of. I don't buy that much spendy stuff at all really.

Yes, to a point, but you then have to have the discussion with the security department and wait for a new card to arrive and activate it and verify and double check all your transactions from there onwards.
Why bother when a Paypal account is pretty much free and is accepted nearly everywhere online?
