I stand corrected. When you were in possession of both Mollys pickup AND refund you were totally the victim in the situation.
My apologies.

I have no idea about all the deals you've made. I can only comment on Brian's one. Regardless of how the pickups ended up at your neighbour's, you have the pickups, Brian doesn't have his money. I figured, upon receipt of said pickups, the money should be transferred back immediately, or at least offered to do so. That alone, combined with your attitude towards budgeting and spending, ring massive alarm bells in my books.el byrdo wrote:I had a couple of things lost damaged or stolen in the mail. Great bass, although the model I received has white binding and pearloid inlays instead of no binding and black inlays. Not sad about it.
Quite growly – I'm a big fan of the 70's pickup position. Going to shield it and change the vol/vol setup to vol/blend sometime this week.
Pickups are nice – could do with a tiny bit more bite, so there maybe Aguilar or Fralin pickups coming in future but I'll see how it goes after the rewire

Pay him back.
easy.
you could also admit you were wrong.
not too many would go that far tho.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

It's not a hate-fest. It's about being straight with people both here and on TradeMe.
Thanks to the guys who commented. Again, wasn't about the money. It just gnawed when I learned he'd long-since received the 'lost in the post' pickup (at the time I did some real chasing around to try to track it down and now feel like a mug to think I was doing so in good faith) and didn't have the basic decency to contact me.
Edit: So this is his latest PM having been given my bank info.

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
back in the early 2000`s there was a guy on Harmony Central went by the name of CompBlue. anyway, seemed like an ok guy. I bought a wha pedal off him, he sent it GROUND! from the USA to NZ. it literally took 6 months to arrive. anyway, he had ripped a few people off and he began to get a bad name on the forum.
he then changed his name to ComplexTouch, changed his persona to a woman setting up a studio and asked people to donate. well, you know me, I`m a sucker who trusts way too much: I sent Him about 50 old school band posters from the 80`s/90`s Melbourne to decorate his studio.
if any of you guys see any "Mach Pelican" "onyas" or GOD posters, let me know

With the best will in the world I don't think this is going to make it into the 'Trades that went well' thread.

Mental health can be a fragile thing. Can we all maybe just cool our jets so that nobody does anything all of us will regret later?
