I was half joking, but I know it's been done before. That's where bigsby works well, low string take off point. The Duesey trems work so well though... work of art they are.
I did take it that you were, but fully! Seems like a lot of work, with the associated f-up potential. Their version of a bigsby has the same type of roller over the strings and that is the schizzle.

Is 5 coats enough? I layered it on pretty thick the last 2 coats, dont want to deaden the resonance too much!

As long as you concentrated on the edges and you don't mind wear through. yes.

Hmmm Might add another couple tomorrow for good measure. Neighbours will undoubtedly be sick of the sound of a compressor switching on and off by this time of the day

Definately give it more. It'll rub through pretty quickly when you're polishing it up.

seriously, I'd give it at least 3 coats per day over the next 3 days. Flattening every day. Then leave it a few days before hitting it for a final go.
