Heres a little 3U fly rack I put together with the SYN-2 and OS/SLO modules.
The OS does cleans and breakup, and the SLO takes over from there.
I have the TDLX, the SLO and the 800. Am thinking of getting the OS. Do you rate the OS? Do you ever use the rock mode, or the thick mid heavy lead tone?

I use the rock mode even when I'm on the clean channel. The lead channel is somewhat similar to a Mesa Mark series but sounds less refined.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A

Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera
Verellen Meatsmoke | Synergy SYN1 | Mesa Studio

So the lead channel is a bit like the Santana Mark 1 lead tone? I was wondering whether that was the case. Unrefined - too fat and thick? Is the module hard to dial in, and do you find it useful for low to medium gain?

Apparently the gain channel on ODS type amps are basically an FET boost smashing the clean channel, almost seem a bit like an afterthought to me. The similarity to Mesa Mark series mostly come from the tonestack placement and their Fender origins. If you're buying it for the gain I'd recommend using a Mark type module instead.

The clean channel is gorgeous of course...

Not sure what module to buy next. The Engl Savage is meant to be great. People like the Plexi a lot. Noone raves about the Bman. People are equally for and against the AC and the Metroplex. Maybe the BE/BB?

I've been eyeing on the AC module since the start but it costs more than an used AC30 head and I don't have an EL84 power amp.
Engl amps generally don't sound too great unless you're downtuned. I haven't played the module but the real Savage amp doesn't sound right until you are tuned to B or something.

Maybe hold out for the Fryette module.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A

Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera

I use the SLO for gainier tones, Ch1 on the OS is my base clean (usually with a clean boost or compressor), Ch2 is more of an in-between lead sound for me. I run it with Level (which is actually gain) around 10 o'clock and Ratio (Ch2 volume) around 2 o'clock. Bright and Deep switches up, Rock/Jazz switch down.

Given that I have the TDLX module, can you see the OS providing much that I don't already have?
I am interested in a new module, and probably not high gain (I play in a covers band). What would you recommend?

I'd recommend a Salvation Mods Matchvox module if you don't have something Voxy, I liked it quite a bit more than the Synergy AC module. Here's a clip:

The Synergy Plexi & DS modules are very nice too.
