They asked me for some suggestions so I'll pass all of these on. They said they'd let me know what was in the first shipment too so I'll post an update when I have it.GrantB wrote:This is good news.

Guitar & Bass magazine did a Celestion shoot-out a year or so ago. The A-Type came out on top (it was in a Fender amp if memory serves).

Alnico Creams fo sure. There's a Creamback Neo which is claimed to do a greenback thing but I remain to be convinced from the clips I've heard so far. They also have a Copperback (?) which I think is lightweight. Also interested in trying the Redback which is a 150 watt mofo H style.GrantB wrote:This is good news.

Tbh, they should be bringing in 70/80s and rockets for cheap upgrades and diy cabs/amp. That way, they can bankroll the wanky stuff we like.

+1 on the 70/80s - actually a great speaker for the coin.

Re: New Celestion Importer
Looks like they've managed to cherry pick the range. I remember when Ryan was doing them that they insisted on dealers taking the whole lot which meant having to stock all the harder to shift models too.

Do they have a forum discount? If they don't it would be a nice way to say thank you for the free marketing and market advice maybe?bender wrote:Looks like they’ve got the following coming in the first shipment:

Or we could just support a local business that's doing something for the local supply chain of a commodity that's bloody hard to come by ...namely speakers for upgrades. Happy to pay the ticket price here.

Great to have an NZ dealer again!
Celestion should consider themselves lucky to have any representation in this part of the world as I would expect the prices will be pretty hefty.
We'll see what John does with that
