What the hell are we looking at? By the angles, it must have been Hamo's rundown? But I can't recall anything that would've provoked that kind of reaction! Great effort from Darth, cheers for organising and baking! champion!
Tonal Highlights:
Darth’s Marshall of Awesome - Legit Rock’n’Roll goodness. Sounded epic with every guitar that got plugged into it.
Really impressed by the Mesas, both sounded great and equally great dirty, clean, and full filth. Really enjoyed running my Weissenborn into Nik's Mk 5 set to a big Fendery clean
In a similar vein, very impressed by Scott’s 5150 - gorgeous clean and plexi tones as well as teh brewtz
Tod’s beat up 335 and AC30
Toanys Damn and Blast, great pedal. I want one.
Toanys Sovtek, ditto.
Non tonal highlights - excellent puns coming from every corner. nice to meet some more forumites too

Re: Wellington Gearfest - 12pm, Sunday 18th October 2015, Goodtimes Petone
Spectacular day out, well done fellas. This was a great fest. It is amazing how fast the time went.
Some observations:
- First up an apology to Nik. I completely forgot that your young fella was in the room when I was running through my gear, and the profanity level was a bit OTT...
- It never ceases to amaze me what a bunch of GCs there are on this forum.
- I still know so little about how to use the stuff I have, but that doesn't stop me from coming back from these outings wanting something else!
- I seem to be following sirvill around. Last gearfest he had the Jet City and I liked it and now I have one. Now he has a Mark V:25 and guess what I am gassing for...
- Also very much love scooter's 5150, that thing just sounds amazing.
- willow was right about trying the Jet City through scooter's 4x12. Now I want to explore the world of different cabs and aargh.
- There must have been a massive amount of $$$ of gear in those two rooms!
- The pedals. Oh, the pedals. That Submachine of Darth's was off the chain, as the kids probably don't say these days.
- Tony's Silverpistol stuff is turning heads, and for good reason. Want, just don't know what yet.
- NPD! Thanks to sirvill I now have a Joyo trem pedal. It is very subtle, I may just open it up and look for the trimpots. Maybe.
- NDCD! New daisy chain day thanks to polar bear. Now I can run more than one pedal at once!
- It's probably not worth posting my photos, having seen Nik's. Might do it anyway though.
- Rig rundown format was brilliant, really brought everyone together.
- bbrunskill's acoustic collection and tasty playing stirred up some dormant GAS...
- polar bear's board should be called the SS Nimitz, it is about the size of an aircraft carrier.
- Scones, nuts and fudge!
- Not only can these guys play, but they're funny buggers as well.
- I like Nik's tele, and my thoughts on teles are well documented.
- "Sniff my guitar" - sirvill's tele neck smells of maple!
- Les Paul's light-up pickguard on the strat, and that no-name (I want to say phaser?) pedal that sounded awesome.
I know, tl;dr, but there was so much goodness at today's fest that I can't do it all justice.

It was a great afternoon chaps, I really enjoyed it, far better than the usual cacophony. Really enjoyed seeing some of that great gear being put through its paces. The young fella enjoyed it too (at least the scones, sweets and nuts). I shouldn't worry about the bad language he could probably teach us some to be honest.
The '69 plexi stole the show but I also loved Ben's Weissenborn into my MKV, not something you would expect to sound as good as it did.

Ah, that would be a big honkin' P90 looking and sounding thing, specifically a Harmonic Design Z90. Sounds awesome!slash-ed wrote: PS - what's the big honkin' P90 looking thing you've put in my old Tele?
The bridge is also a Seymour Duncan Jerry Donahue and all the pots, and switch, and jack changed out too.

OK, uploaded my photos, mostly garbage, all taken with my phone, but tried to get a mix of action shots and gear shots.

Actually, and amusing aside, just showed the missus the photo of me running through my gear, and she said "what guitar is that?" I just said "My Charvel" and she didn't ask any further - I didn't want to say "That one you gave me a bollocking about that time"!
Have to say though, she was awesome today. She said "Let's can the open home and I'll take the girls out so you can just go to your guitar thing", bless her. Girls were in a strop today too, I really appreciated her making this a priority for me.

Everyone has such cool gear, and lots of different stuff too which is always interesting.
Many different highlights but I must say, a wound-up plexi really does sound good in C Standard :p
