Yeah, thanks.

I've wanted a VC for a while now, and this one looks in good condition and is a wow/rare/collectible aluminium frame model, with a Weber Vintage Series alnico speaker (though I've only just sent an email asking the model). Even if the Weber is not a model I particularly want, I’ll either use it elsewhere or sell it. And I think the price I paid is good even if it had the crappy original speaker.

I’ve noticed these things going up in price and if you have a look on eBay right now, you’ll see some folks asking very high prices, though I wonder if any of them are actually getting what they ask.

I’ve noticed that those with circuit mods, like this one, often don’t gather a lot of interest – even though the 5F1 mod is popular, and in this case has been done by Gerald Weber, and has supposedly been serviced at Kendrick too. I will probably either get the mod reversed or have a switch installed in the second input to switch between the stock AA764 (blackface) and the 5F1 circuit.

I just hope it’s in as good condition as I’m expecting. I’m having it shipped by sea, so I won’t know for 2-3 months.

The amp arrived today. It was posted on 1 Dec, so it took just over five weeks. A quick passage for once. It was well packed and the packaging suffered no damage. Customs didn't charge the tax that I expected they would, so that's a bonus.

The speaker is Weber's 8A125, which I'm quite pleased about.

Though bits of polystyrene have "past participle of get" everywhere, the condition appears generally good, and the amp seems fairly clean (unlike the previous two), but the condition is not as good as I had hoped.

The grill cloth has a small split in it and the cab has a couple of areas of impact damage, neither of which show in the pics. The chassis straps and handle mounts have more rust than the other two, but it is circa 9-11 years older.

That said; it should clean up okay, and for the price I paid with the Weber speaker included, I’m happy.

I hope to clean it up and try it out tomorrow.

Well, I have placed my order for the Double Deluxe kit! Now, I only have to wait 2 months for it to be ready, and 2 months for it to ship here...nice...

Behold, the beast!

Well, not really but it's plenty loud and has a sweet sound. And it was way cheaper than a Classic 30 that I wouldn't have done justice to anyway.

My DSL100, and pedalboard.

The 5150II badge is off a lovely toy I had as guest in my house for a couple of weeks, who was unfortunately claimed by the owner again... :?
