Re: Pedals Of Epicness
Interesting re the TS808HW. I just got one...much better clarity and attack than current production.
But, still lacks bass....UNTIL, you plug in a Strat. I don't know what's going on, but I prefer my Nobels, Greer type circuits for buckers, but the 808 sounds really good with a Strat.
Sidebar - the MI Audio Blues Pro is still my fav 808 themed pedal to date (is it 808 themed?> Shit, doubting myself now). It's just so balanced and rich.

Re: Pedals Of Epicness
Theres some magic in the 808 for sure, I think the blues pro is based on the tube screamer but not necessarily an 808, however... strats lack in the mids dept so a mid push from a tubescreamer is just magic, my guess is even though the lightspeed is another tubescreamer it perhaps lacks as much of a mid push just like the ODR-1 so both likely work better with a tele or les paulGrantB wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 9:35 pmInteresting re the TS808HW. Re: Pedals Of Epicness
This is the ODR1 to have. It almost makes my actual ODR seem like a pale imitation.jeremyb wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 9:44 pmTheres some magic in the 808 for sure, I think the blues pro is based on the tube screamer but not necessarily an 808, however... strats lack in the mids dept so a mid push from a tubescreamer is just magic, my guess is even though the lightspeed is another tubescreamer it perhaps lacks as much of a mid push just like the ODR-1 so both likely work better with a tele or les paulGrantB wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 9:35 pmInteresting re the TS808HW. Mr. Wampler, take yet another bow.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Pedals Of Epicness
Had never heard of this pedal until I saw DemonFX have put out a clone of it, seems like a pretty versatile Blues Breaker style circuit, will probably grab one to try out.
