Sigh... I give up... it's bloody hopeless... He definitely gave that neck a bloody good shake all over the place. Bloody good player though, isn't he?Danger Mouse wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 9:54 amcodedog wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 10:16 amYouTube notified me of that video but I hadn't had a chance to see it. Blimey, that's quite pronounced, eh? I have to go back and watch Chris Buck's videos, can't recall hearing it there.Danger Mouse wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 8:11 am
I wasn't aware Paul Davids was a lurker on here, but I think he's read your post...
I suspect we have more than one famous lurker on here, I think Chris has also now read this thread and is intentionally trying to wind you up at the beginning

He's outstanding, his playing at the end has some really sublime moments.codedog wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 10:18 amSigh... I give up... it's bloody hopeless... But it's funny, I've been trying to copy and learn from both Chris and Paul since the Xmas break and after your comments I looked at my playing... I'm shaking the neck all over the place too...
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

That's all good, man. Seriously, I'm full of irrational irritations. Some days fuller than others. You go wherever the passion of the moment takes you. It is evident in spades that Chris' playing is most definitely full of passion and feel.Danger Mouse wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 10:32 amHe's outstanding, his playing at the end has some really sublime moments.codedog wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 10:18 amSigh... Re: YouTube goodness
It's interesting that to really dig in, get that feel and flow, get the vibrato really happening, it's not really optional.
Coming from a shredder weenie background, where speed was always the most important component of my playing, I never needed to wobble my guitar about at all. But changing my approach towards his kind of playing, trying to focus on feeling and emotion rather than pyrotechnics, it just naturally happens.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
