Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

The bit at 4.30 where he pulls the guitar back up by the cable..... :D
Neither. That was crazy.

Couldn't work out which was the "infamous" bit; when he smashed his guitar on the camera, when he sconed someone in the crowd with a broken strat, or when his Marshall stacks spotaneously combusted! That was like a Michael Bay film.

And all the while, I couldn't help wonder what all that smashed gear would be worth today...
Nothing to see here.

I generally can't turn Queen off quick enough but I'll always make an exception for this (had a huge impact on me as a ten year old). Here Brian May joins Rick Beato to take the song apart:

Queen hold a very special place in my heart, they were my gateway from pop to rock in my early teens. Bohemian Rhapsody is a masterpiece, so complex and clever and yet digested so easily like a simple pop song. I still miss Freddie even 30yrs after his death

The guitars were 3 bolt Fenders so not much. And the Marshall was a 200w Major so nobody today would want it except Cappy. :shifty:

Exactly the same for me. That song and video are the reason I got into guitar. That sound and the guitar hero image. Can't overstate what an impact it had on me.

Even Blackmore wasn't a big fan, apparently.

Good read, that. And one of the better hype busters too!
