What did you think when he started pouring water all over the fretboard? I was impressed up until that point. Just seemed crazy to invite water into the neck like that.

Re: YouTube goodness
My guess would be... the water and glue mix, the rosewood sucks this in to its end grain (in the slots) which strengthens it and stops bits falling out next time you pull the frets.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Well, I figured he kind of knew what he was doing. You don’t last forty years in a business like that by fucking things up all the time.Molly wrote:What did you think when he started pouring water all over the fretboard? Re: YouTube goodness
I don't doubt it but how many times do you watch, say, a PRS or Musicman factory tour where they're talking about the importance of getting water out of the wood? But, yes, he has a queue a mile long of people wanting him to refret guitars so fuck the axioms.MattH wrote:Well, I figured he kind of knew what he was doing. Yeah, I enjoyed that episode a lot more than I thought I would. Had expectations of it being pretty boring but it ended up being quite the opposite
