Not wanting to start a fight of course but, in line with Slowy's thread about taking the paint off his G&L strat and the discussion about whether paint/poly affects tone, and including the adage that tone is in the fingers, does nail polish affect tone?

Depends. Are we talking about Shellac or acrylic nail polish?

Absolutely, and I've started wearing nitro cellulose lacquer on my finger nails and my tone is UNBELIEVABLE now.

Nah, I've been putting nail polish on my strings for years and they sound the same.

Of all the guitarists I have exposed my Dad to over the years his response has generally been positive but usually fairly muted. I remember a few years back he went to see Guthrie perform at a Victory clinic, he messaged me after the gig to tell me he has just witnessed the best guitarist he's ever seen live since Hendrix in the late 60's. For my Dad to say that (and actually turn his phone on and take the time to type it, must've taken him ages haha), he must have been on a completely different level

Anyhow, Rick gives a really nice summarisation of Guthrie and I am in complete agreement

Highly recommend having a look at her channel, she plays anything and everything from Nirvana and Guns N Roses through to Roy Orbison. Insanely talented

Cool track. I tried to learn it for about 5 minutes after watching the G3 tour dvd. Long time ago. He has an unmistakeable guitar style, and I like his wooly-fuzz-overdrive tone. Some pretty epic mullets in his time too... If memory serves me 😆
