Reverb pedal suggestion..

Post by griff »

Hey guys.
Who here uses reverb as a mostly on effect when playing live? Whether it's built in amp verb or a pedal.
My amp doesn't have it and my Nova System reverb is ok at best.
What pedal would you suggest that sits well in a band setting but doesn't mess up my tone?

I've had a red panda context for 3 years and absolutely love it.

It was that or the Keeley Aurora for me but the context has more modes and a reverb + delay setting. Super pedal.

I would have thought the TC reverbs would be ok?
I haven’t personally tried the Nova but the TC Hall of Fame isn’t bad.
Do you want a Spring sound or something different?
I personally use a plate as my always on reverb and I know some pedals do a great plate but not so great spring and vise versa.

I have a Strymon Flint and a Neunaber Wet.
Both are great IMHO.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I found the Hof to be really really dark and not as smooth as modern reverbs. I think other pedals pick up where they left off.

Oh forgot to mention the afterneath from eqd and the boss rv6 is really really nice too, does everything.

It's ok but I can hear some digital stuff going on with it.
I'm after something that's subtle, not too overpowering, just add a bit of depth to my dry tone.
I'm pretty green with reverb and their many settings.. maybe a simple 'plate' is what I'm after, I dunno.

Try the rv6. Can't go wrong and it sounds great.

on a more serious note, the Boss RV6 gets another vote from me, I love reverb and have quite a few from the BigSky, Matthews Effects Astronomer and ME Cosmonaut (now sold), Neunaber, Boss RV6, Flint (sold), BlueSky (sold). I still have the RV6 it's that good and won't cost you a limb, there's a Neunaber Wet mono on TM right now which is also an excellent reverb pedal
