What capacitor to use with EMGs or active pickups?

Post by Zaulkin »

Hi guys,

I'm wiring up some EMGs and I don't know what Capacitor to use. They didn't come with a capacitor.

It's an SA, SA, 85 configuration and I need one cap.

Any suggestions as to what I might use? It also really preferably needs to be something I can buy at Guitarparts.co.nz.

Thanks

Looking around It seems that what I need is a ".1uF" cap. Is that the standard for an EMG HSS set?

Guitarparts don't seem to have them.

My LP has EMG 81+81 pups and a 104k (same as .1uf) on each tone pot.
Do the emg instructions not specify pots and cap values?

My instructions were how to connect the quick connect cables. Other diagrams show a cap but don't specify what it is. I've probably just mssed it while skim reading. I'll try .1uF.

That's a 100n cap, they're about 25c from Jaycar. Or I've got a bunch of them if you're in Auckland.
