VegaTrem

Has anyone come across these before? looks like a great way to mod a guitar without any routing or drilling required.

That's amazing. I never realized changing strings was that difficult... Maybe we're all just super smart.

I have been stunned at the amount of people who bring their guitar into the store to get it restrung, and even gigging musicians who at the very least are underconfident

I have just been working on a Strat with one of these. Absolutely fabulous. Balanced, fluid...it's quite something. Spendy tho.

Ooooh sounds like I definitely should, seems hilarious to spend more than the cost of the guitar on a trem but needs must...

Looking at their website its around $425 NZD shipped which seems pretty reasonable when you look at Floyd Rose pricing and the effort to install!

Theres an Australian website which sells them for $385 AUD which probably works out around the same...

It amazes me how many people are too afraid to try basic maintenance for fear of messing it up, especially with youtube these days it makes it so easy!

Funny you brought up Vega trem, I was just looking at one the other day! I wonder if ordering 2 would save on shipping...

Shipping is free! :mental:

Ok, so just ordered one, interestingly I had the option of paying in Euros or NZD, the NZD option said it would be about $485 NZD as there was a fee and blah blah so I took a gamble and chose Euros, my credit card was billed $427.23, yay!

Are thinking this for the Kramer? Would you you still use a string lock after the nut?

Yeah its gonna go on the Kramer, I have some Guyker locking tuners coming from AliExpress, I've used them before and they're seriously great, and way too cheap at ~$40 shipped....

I'm likely gonna swap out the nut for a graphtech one, but I picked up some nut lube https://www.rockshop.co.nz/music-nomad- ... -lubricant and fresh strings today so that may be enough?!?!?

This video was suggested to me this morning, hadn't heard of the Vega before then

I have one on a Strat. It's very smooth and holds tuning nicely. No need for roller nut or string tree but staggered tuners recommended..
