Interesting - why no string trees? Given they are a post nut treatment?

I always thought the staggered tuners were so you didn't need a string tree? I'm going with locking tuners and nut lube on my Kramer with the Vega so will see how that holds up :mental:

if you have ever changed strings on a Rickenbacker, you will quickly realise that it's a wee bit difficult.

Staggered tuners remove the need for a string tree and of course another element for the strings to get caught on when employing the trem.
My Tyler also has staggered tuners along with a conventional 6 screw Callaham trem. Also keeps tune pretty decently ( no string trees ).

The trem on the strat is actually fine, whereas the one on the baretta is not  but I have had thoughts of putting one on the strat if I like it on the Baretta :mental: although it would take away from the 60s aesthetic I'm going for...

VegaTrem arrived this morning, no meetings this afternoon so hopefully will get a chance to install it, although I need to do the new pickup install and polish the frets first.. have already installed the locking tuners, not sure when the new nut will arrive..

*edit* nut just arrived, looks like my afternoon plans are sorted :mental:
