This for me. Some people can get cool sounds out of a wah but I definitely can't.

I can Wah, but only when I copy Tom Morello.
Cocked Wah is a better prospect a la Schenker.

I'll call your mandolin...I don't mind 'em...I like Bluegrass...actually, I like lots of different grass...fescues, ryes, browntop, Pirongia bush...
Yeah, bagpipes...innaresting, that one...a lone one in the hands of a battler is a fight to the death with a snake up a goose's arse. Many, together in the hand's of some musicians can be extremely stirring and captivating...similar to a cracking good haka. I can imagine what it might have been like hearing that racket coming from over a hill brow, through the mist, steadily getting closer, anticipating the battle to come and quietly wetting my tunic.
Ukuleles, outside of Hawaii, should be hacked to death, dragged through the streets, hanged, flailed, burnt and the ash pissed upon!

Not sure Bagpipes, Mandolins, or Ukeleles qualify for Gear that everybody seems to love.

Yeah not seeing much bagpipe GAS here. I've seen a worrying amount of mandolin content though.

Damn straight!
Except...it was the polka/electric accordion craze of the 50s that gave the world the stereo, Magnatone, FM vibrato amp...reborn these days as a guitar amp that continues to tickle my ardour.

I actually own an Archer Icon and Blackface and I’m not sure I’ve ever tried them together strangely. Need to give this a go.robthemac wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 3:39 pmI don't know if I'm weird for actually liking the break-up from a Klone into a clean amp.godgrinder wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 1:10 pm Tubescreamers.

Definitely weird, a Jan Ray clone / Timmy with less gain gives such a beautiful tone with a Strat….robthemac wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 3:39 pmI don't know if I'm weird for actually liking the break-up from a Klone into a clean amp.godgrinder wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 1:10 pm Tubescreamers.

On the whole pick thing, anything more than two fingers full is a waste.
