JoeBlow wrote: Mon May 15, 2023 12:20 pm I didn't vibe with the Strymon Flint. I didn't like the reverb sounds at all. I also find Jazz 3 picks a bit cunty to work with. Just a bit too small.
I have a red one. I keep finding it in the vacuum cleaner. I kinda get why folks like them but my sausage fingers just swallow it.

What's your favourite reverb?
Yeah I'm muting notes and unintentionally producing pinch harmonics with those little things. I give them to my 8yr old nieces, as they're suited to their little fingers.

I just like plate reverb, so the 60's mode was never going to appeal. I thought the 70's and 80's modes would be great, but I just not remember being impressed. I would try one again, and maybe love it. That's the thing about gear - it's silly to not give any piece of equipment time to grow on you. I thought the POG2 I bought, then sold the same night, sucked as well, but then I bought a Micro POG a few years later, and I enjoy it. So a second play through a Flint could be a completely different experience.

Free the Tone Ambi Space AS-1R is my favorite reverb pedal.

The only reverb of the Flint that I truly think I haven't heard better is the 80s (room). I use it all the time and think it sounds fantastic. But that's for solo loop stuff (especially a percussion track), I can see how it'd be less than useful in most environments.

There is no denying the popularity of the Tube Screamer so I doubt you will have any trouble selling it. It probably just won't be me buying it.

I've come to hate any piece of gear that takes more than house party volume to sound good.

I went to some awesome house parties back in the day, The Mall in Stockton had a great house night.

Oh, you don't mean that sort of house party?
