Buying an HX Stomp on Andertons

Post by bassegg »

I'm about to pull the trigger on an HX Stomp. Rockshop price: $1349, Andertons price: $772 (incl shipping).

What's the catch? Will I have to pay GST or duty or anything? Google tells me nothing to pay unless it's over $1k.

Power adapter come with NZ prongs?

Pretty sure RS won’t want to know about it if you have a problem.

Andertons don't add GST so you will get away with it, I'm surprised they're allowed to ship Line6 here though...

If anyone is interested in what Andertons warranty support is like, I put in a warranty request for the Orange Terror Stamp I bought recently, its got some weird crackling on lower notes, anyway they offered a replacement after the original was returned, or a refund, they'd pay all the shipping etc too, can't fault that!!

Things may have changed, but when I bought my Helix a couple of years ago, no authorized Line 6 overseas dealer would ship one to NZ. They all said it would breach their terms of trade with L6. Tried Andertons, Thomann, Sweetwater etc. In the end I bought from RS.

Good outcome. He may be cringey on his TV channel, but the Cap'n certainly knows how to run a business, it seems.

Pretty sure Andertons won't send any Helix models to NZ. I remember trying a while back but when I got to the Checkout I got a message saying that it cannot be sent to NZ

Awwww stink. It’s being refunded.

Gotta love the brand monopolies in NZ. Support local I guess?

Try Peach Guitars on Reverb. Says they ship to NZ.

Have you tried Reverb? I look for the sellers who seem to accidentally select "free international shipping"

Wow. Even with the expensive shipping it still works out around $500 less than NZRS. Didn't realise they were that expensive - have they had a price hike recently? I think not being able to procure one from Andertons was the main reason I ended up going with the Headrush Gigboard, and no regerts either. You don't seem to be able to get that particular model anymore but I'm sure the HX Stomp is just as good. Having one on your pedalboard really is a game changer
