Um...Okay

Disclaimer: I've only just met this thing and I'm no expert on it.
'Hey, what if we gathered all the sounds you could get from molesting two reel to reel tapes and put them in a box?'
Someone at Strymon asked that question, and the Deco is proof they took it seriously. One half controls distortion from tape saturation and the other half, modulation/speed effects. This offers really organic tremolo, delay, chorus, flange and a range of swoops and wobbles that I can't even begin to describe. This is a very precise tool; minor changes can have notable effect. And it always makes you sound better!
And there's no way I'd ever have one on my gig board.
The Deco is subtle. I don't mean it's weak or anything, but it's best work is with the dynamics of low volume. Put this between your guitar and home amp, settle down for a bit of noodling and switch this on.
I'd describe the result as 'worth the effort'.
One polarising thing; those of you used to tweaking, please proceed immediately to your Happy Place. The Deco only does what the old tapes did; nothing more. So it will tell you what it's got and over to you to make something with it.
I don't like infinite choices so I heartily approve.
So there you have it. Selection anxious, technophobic old fart falls in love with Digital Technology.
