Recommend a BONEHEAD simple MultiFX
Hi all,
My much loved and used TC Nova System has been showing a few signs of old age and the drive section edit button has completely stopped working, so I'm thinking I should replace it soon as I'm gigging most weekends. Can anyone recommend a MultiFX that is bone head simple to use and will stand up to the punishment of regular gigging - including beer spills, being stepped on and so forth.
Must have good basic OD/echo/chorus but also some weird shit for various songs that need Whammy and wah and flanger, etc.

Had a couple of M13's and M9's, no issues. Had a Nova, it had issues....
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I gigged both a M9 and then a M13 for a few years. Both units held up well over time, and on sold without any dramas.
The bit I like, also as an effects bonehead is that it’s one effect per foot switch, and easy to set on the unit, and tweak on the fly.
I find the whole scenes thing a bit daunting, so one footswitch one effect was perfect for me. Quality of effects was great too, didn’t feel like I needed any extra drives or anything aside from the unit & expression pedal.

Line 6 Pod Go is a stoopid-simple Helix. Pretty solid construction. I've played a few interesting gigs with mine and it still looks new. Only problem is, the power supply is really short and doesn't seem very sturdy.

+1 on this, if you want the basics of simple analog knobs/stompbox experience. I've had an ME80 since about 2016, after having an ME50 for about 7 or so prior. Took me under 10 mins to set up 2 delays, tuner, octave up, reverb, boost, trem and a decent high-gain sound I can use at bedroom volume.
That being said, it's still commanding a solid price (around $400ish) new and used, so there may be other more budget conscious options.
BUT it doesn't get more simple than the Boss interface IMO. I just marked my preferred settings on the unit, and haven't done anything else other than change the master volume on it in 4 years.

Given your band Ben, I think you need to go with the Boss...

Also, it has a LOT of weird modulation options as well. I got really experimental with it a few years back, but likely only scratched the surface. The Scarecrow wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 9:18 am+1 on this, if you want the basics of simple analog knobs/stompbox experience. I still have a Zoom GFX-5. Super simple to change patches and a pretty good output.
Epiphone Riviera P93 & EJ200CE, Hagstrom Viking Bass, Doubleneck bass/guitar.
Rivera Clubster 45, Carvin AG100D, Ashton BSK158.

To be fair for The Boss I'm putting together a sweet pedalboard with just the stuff I need and love- Hotcake, DMM, SCF and a tuner.

This thing looks like the go.
