Oh man!
As much as I would love one, the line "pricing is likely to be relatively steep - closer to Pigdog / Vemuram levels rather than those fairly recent Macari’s MKI editions" probably puts it out of what I can justify. Guessing around $800

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I must say, I'm impressed that Boss went direct to the source and collaborated with Macaris. If they were going to do a Tone Bender, they certainly went the right way about it. And the aesthethics are legit - it looks cool as fuck.
But part of what I dig about fuzz is the ancient artifact nature of it - I like that they are primitive devices... I like Boss for other reasons. This is a weird collision.
On balance, I think I'm more excited about the HM-2w. I should mention that of all the Tone Bender variants, MkII is my least favourite. Not particularly well suited to humbuckers in my experience. MkI and MkIII/IV are more my style.
