Going analog - recommend chorus and tremolo

Post by rickenbackerkid »

Hi all,

I'm looking to move my Nova Sytem to backup and put together a simple and analog-ish pedalboard rig.

Is there such a thing as a simple analog pedal to give me various forms of modulation? I need chorus and tremolo, could also use phaser and rotary. It must have analog dry though, if not full analog. I'm reluctant to get 3-4 pedals to do this if I could do it with just one as I want the thing to be very compact

Better still, I have a Nova modulation pedal that I would be happy for you to acquire.

IF you you're wanting a great trem pedal, the red witch pentovocal trem is awesome and you can pick them up cheap :-)

Red witch chorus is epic - and would be hard to beat. I've got one and it's great. if you can get one of the older handwired ones - even better :-) Although the newer white ones are stereo.

Pretty hard to find all those effects in one analog box. Keeley Mod Workstation maybe?

There are loads of nice chorus+vibrato pedals, and I think there are a few nice trem+vibe+rotary types.

Sherlock Tremmit!!! if you can find one. Zvex seek trem if you have the spendy.

Boss CE2
Ibanez BC9
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

The Nova Mod sounds nice but the presets are damn near impossible to change on the fly. Pick up a Line 6 M9 or Modulation modeller? Good enough for Mike Campbell.
Loving it so far

Cheers all. StratMatt I happen to love the MM4, I reckon they sound killer but just too big.

I’ve solved the chorus issue - watched a top 12 legendary choruses video on YouTube and the one I liked the most was a TC Electronics SCF. I had seen one on TM a while back so I hunted through far too many old posts and found it. Just a trem to go and after yesterday’s chorus fun, I think it’s time go a bit more budget on this one :-)

Just don't go too budget. The Joyo trem I had just lacked any depth, it wasn't versatile at all IMO.
