Dang that looks like a good contender!
Although I’m pretty happy with my 2 x ToneX ones in stereo for now, this is appealing!

The M-Vave Blackbox is about $130 NZD on AliExpress and uses Neural Amp Model ANN profiles, plus has bluetooth for playing along with songs etc, pretty great wee unit!

Does Kemper still have the thing where a capture only covers one slim of the amps sound? Eg. You need to switch to multiple captures to cover the whole gain range of the amp.

I mean, all capture/profile type things suffer from this but I believe Kemper's Liquid Profile thing captures the tone stack a bit better to mediate this.
For me all I need is something dialled in kinda close for live use so it doesn't really bother me. I just use three presets - a clean, crunch/rhythm, and high gain lead.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but you can get all those in a Katanaslash-ed wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 11:27 amI mean, all capture/profile type things suffer from this but I believe Kemper's Liquid Profile thing captures the tone stack a bit better to mediate this.

Especially since I'm not the primary guitarist these days, I just want something super portable and quick to setup.

Re: Neural DSP Quad Cortex / Archetype Plugins Thread
I'm not really up with the latest gear these days, but this really appeals to me.
Mainly I would use this for playing in the house with headphones once everyone's gone to bed. I have one guitar out at a time, so the transpose feature is almost a must have for me.
Edit: After looking at options a bit more, for my needs it's hard to go past a good ol HX Stomp.

Re: Neural DSP Quad Cortex / Archetype Plugins Thread
Alright been going down the Archetype rabbit hole, and I like what I'm hearing. I had been trying to steer clear of the interface -> laptop setup for practice in favour of something in pedal form. But nothing really does what I want for the $ I'm prepared to spend in order to achieve a satisfactory lounge noodling setup.
I've got the laptop in front of me when I'm playing anyway so plugging into a little 2i2 isn't any more of a hassle. Reckon I will grab the Gojira and maybe the Tim Henson packs if they have their usual Black Friday sales.

Well worth waiting for their sales, its always 50% off, I have those two and Rabea as well, fantastic sounding sims, just wish you could mix and match effects and amps across them...StratMatt wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:30 am Alright been going down the Archetype rabbit hole, and I like what I'm hearing. Re: Neural DSP Quad Cortex / Archetype Plugins Thread
Could you load them all into your DAW and turn the effects and amps on and off across all of them? Like if you ran the effects from the Rabea archetype into the Tim Henson amp?jeremyb wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:53 amWell worth waiting for their sales, its always 50% off, I have those two and Rabea as well, fantastic sounding sims, just wish you could mix and match effects and amps across them...StratMatt wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:30 am Alright been going down the Archetype rabbit hole, and I like what I'm hearing. You could get a Tonex pedal and load a capture of a Neural DSP plugin. Tonenet has free captures you can download uploaded by the user community.StratMatt wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:30 am Alright been going down the Archetype rabbit hole, and I like what I'm hearing. You can even find Tonex captures of Kemper profiles to download for free from Tonenet.

Turns out my trusty 2012 MBP isnt able to hit the OS11 required for running Neural Archetypes either so that's not ideal.

Re: Neural DSP Quad Cortex / Archetype Plugins Thread
Theres a few pedal options you could look into, like the M-Vave Blackbox: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005007539930625.html has bluetooth in for playing along with and you can load Neural ANN capture files, custom IRs etc..StratMatt wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 7:41 amThanks for that, will definitely look into one of those.jhyang549 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 7:40 pmYou could get a Tonex pedal and load a capture of a Neural DSP plugin.
