If you want simple operation, great sounds, reliability, check out the boss dd8 or the dd200. Or the mad professor deep blue if you want a simple classic.

If space on the pedalboard is a factor the Red Witch Violetta is tiny, and has a good range of sounds. I got the battery bypass with mine so it runs off the pedalboard powersupply, not the rechargable battery.

Nearly pulled the trigger on this last night after a couple of Kingfisher Strongs! Thought I'd better sleep on it, but this sounds super sweet. Not sure how the embed function works sorry..

If you want a long delay just order something from Aliexpress.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

I'm unsure to how to embed either, a wee pointer would be welcomed. Another first world problem; the smilies don't work on my phone it seems.

If you like that delay and are on a budget - something like the Red Witch Titan might be an option. It's got an effects loop that affects the delays, so you can apply any of those effects to the delay if you've got them.

Use the full link rather than the shortlink. E.g.IMOCD wrote:WOW! That's something else!StratMatt wrote:Nearly pulled the trigger on this last night after a couple of Kingfisher Strongs! Thought I'd better sleep on it, but this sounds super sweet. Not sure how the embed function works sorry..

Ah I see, thanks. I should be able to forget that by the next time I need to embed something. On my phone too which probably doesn't help.

I quite like the Boss DM2W, but mostly because you can get some weird dark feedbacky noises out of it if you want to. It's also get a decently small footprint and rock solid build quality.

Re: Delays! Recommend me one!
I'm with you I tried all the Strymon's and mega delays but I'm just too simple to get the best out of them, I got a DD200 but it only lasted a few weeks, so I ended up with three old classics a DM-2, a Deluxe Memory Man and a Echoplex EP-3. I'm sure that's the complete opposite end of the scale StratMatt is looking but I love how the classic's sound, so inspiring to play through.I really liked the volante as well but it took me to places in my playing that weren't really my style.Wairarapajack wrote:I quite like the Boss DM2W, but mostly because you can get some weird dark feedbacky noises out of it if you want to.
