Jazz box GAS
Been listening to a bit of Jazz guitar lately on YouTube... Decided to learn one of my fave tracks ever, Misty... naturally, now I also have GAS for a holowbody Jazz guitar.
Any jazz players on the forum? What guitars have you got?

I keep eyeing up a few on TradeMe. This one certainly looks the part.

Honestly, I'm a heathen who loves the sound of jazz played on Teles. Roll the tone back a touch and you're in hillbilly jazz heaven.

I'd say I was jazz curious... I can play a couple of tunes and I'm really keen on working all 12 notes (and a lot more chords) into my vocab.
I have a couple of Eastman guitars, they are wonderful. Here's one of them:

I'm a basic level dabbler in jazz... I want to learn a few songs in the next while, and absorb I can in terms of the applicable theory at the same time. That eastman looks purdy!olegmcnoleg wrote:

Not a huge fan of the private stock personally. They look like beautiful artworks more than guitars to me.

Me too... if Julian Lage is a heathen because of this, I'm happy to have that label too!robthemac wrote:I keep eyeing up a few on TradeMe. This one certainly looks the part.

Listen to Make a Mistake With Me by Brad Paisley - first and second parts as it's sometimes in two different tracks.

Re: Jazz box GAS
I had one of those Godin 5th Avenue guitars that was pretty nice.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
