What pedal am I looking for?
So I use an AX8, and have drive pedals set up on that with X/Y statuses to get the most out of them. They are cpu hungry, and I also like keeping one real outboard dirt pedal for ease of use and coz I have the space.
Been using a TS mini and Cmat Sigma Drive, but don't know if they're quite hitting the mark. I want something to pretty much leave on and to just give a touch of something to the cleans when I dig in and also keep the gain patches tight when I switch amps.
Am I looking for a Klon style? Or like an EP booster? Compressor maybe..

Sounds like you want a flat/transparent low-gain OD like a Paul Cochrane Timmy, Lovepedal OD11, Walrus Audio Messner, DOD Looking Glass, etc.
Just missed out on a Timmy on TM the other day. Gutted as they don't come round here often.

Nothing to see here.

Lovepedal Kalamazoo. I only mention it as it's one of the bits I'll be selling upon my return. Unless I already sold it and have just forgotten. I've done that before.

I'd suggest early onset. However, in your case I'd say the collection was probably badly catalogued.Molly wrote:Lovepedal Kalamazoo. I only mention it as it's one of the bits I'll be selling upon my return. Unless I already sold it and have just forgotten. I've done that before.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

The most versatile overdrive I've ever had is the Archer 'The Dude'. It might now be piece of gear I've had the longest. Two years! Which, if you convert Molly years to normal years, is about ten.

I find there’s a special kind of thing happening in the JHS Prestige pedals. Could definitely be an always on pedal, and there’s a ridiculous amount of headroom in them. If you’re wanting a bit more when you dig in you could just try running a flat EQ pedal with the gain boosted too. Bonus of using an EQ pedal is that you can shape things if needed. All of the above have worked well for me at some point, but I haven’t tried it into any multi fx, so I’m not sure if it all reacts quite the same

Ah yeah I did have an MXR eq running before it at one point, that worked quite well actually. Not many booteek internet points to be had thoughSimonHirst wrote:I find there’s a special kind of thing happening in the JHS Prestige pedals. Re: What pedal am I looking for?
Klon gives a little bass cut and nice mid range boost but a different kind to the TS styles you are using. From what I understand (and having owned many TS variants and the Cmat Signa Drive) the Signa drive is just a modded TS. EP gives a slight bass boost so won’t tighten things up so to speak, but works wonders at lower volumes to thicken things up. If your playing at 90db or higher go for a Klon!
