I'm kinda tired of the characterisation of women as killjoys of men's hobbies, if I'm honest. Saw an ad for a bike today that said something like "don't let your wife see you looking at me." Please.
Its certainly a trope, but for plenty of men its actually a thing, women tend to not have hobbies or seek the type of connection that men do thru their hobbies and clubs, and this creates friction, on a semi related theme you should listen to the Louis Theroux podcast with Germaine Greer, she has a bit to say on this subject.
The real issue here is the setting of unrealistic expectations. There’s no way someone that hot is going anywhere near someone that “collects” an SF300.

Anyway, my wife is wonderful when it comes to my purchases, but then again many moons ago we decided we would each take the same amount of spending money from our respective incomes which we can do with whatever we wish and then the rest goes into various spending accounts where joint purchases are made and we discuss any large personal purchases like new cars or whatever... I think it works pretty great just like this delay pedal!

My wife openly encouraged me to buy a vintage Jazzmaster. So I bloody well did!
