Not in the mail, but on my carpet...

Jumped on this one

Image

Its a livesound cab with a barely broken in Celestion A...

Two reasons - I wanted to check out livesounds build quality of guitar cabs. And I needed a cab for the Ironheart.

Was planning to make one but parts and speaker would have cost more than this virtually brand new cab.

Met a bloody nice old chap into the bargain. Climbing up to his place left me breathless - and he used to do it with a DR Combo, now he's split it into two journeys with a head and a cab :)
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Good score, I was watching this one but I already have a Livesound 112 cab sized like a Mesa Wideboy. Open & closed back options too. Very well made :)

Yeah I saw you questioning, the price was too good to miss. I'll explore the build at some point. Looks fine, obviously ply but they use good quality stuff - I always ask about offcuts and usually get some ;) I like the guys there!

well bugger me... that Ironheart is loud through the cab - even at < 1 Watt setting :D I need to crank this at some point!
Really impressed with the Ironhearts versatility - thanks Mark! - sounds awesome through studio monitors and cab. I need to wait for the missus to leave the house before I try it through the Headrush

Got a Hammond 1760H and 194F choke coming from Mouser for a 20w quasi-JCM800 build I've been working on for a while with a mate of mine. It's designed to fit in a 10x6" chassis and might be able to run 6L6 tubes for added fatness but we'll see how we go... I've a pair of 6p3s that might work better.

It started as a mini JCM800 project but I've thrown a few ideas into the mix which may or may not work out, one of which is a cold clipper switch withe the resistors in parallel to avoid the popping... not a hugely advanced mod but parallel resistors is a better application than Rob Robinette's original drawing.

I've also been wondering how to make a switch for the slope resistor in the tone stack, but since it comes right off a cathode it's carrying a lot of juice, but you can do a lot of tone sculpting by dicking with that single resistor.

A 1997 KV97 Squier Strat is on its way up here from Taupo. $200 shipped. Awesome. These ones had bodies that were made of real wood. Imagine that.

New pots and knobs for the epi 339, last thing to upgrade on it… literally on the courier. Mostly paid for with my wonderful 5 year work bonus.
