I should do an unboxing.

I guess I should own-up and admit that when I said a Gretsch box, that's all it was...

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Yeah. I seem to have sifted-down to just gear I actually use. It's an unusual approach but seems to be working well.

Main guitar is the ex-Slowy '54 Strat reissue, and there's the Baja (with some custom wound pickups made by a guy in Nelson) that sounds great. I've also got a cheap ESP with EMGs if I'm revisiting my youth. Still got the ex-Oleg Walden acoustic too. Pedals are just the EP Booster and The Dude overdrive. Amps are the Marshall TSL100 that I put the latest board in (didn't have any of the bias-wandering issues but I upgraded anyway) into a Marshall 412 with the mix of Greenback and V30 that came from my old Friedman cab. But the main amp is my Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb that, with The Dude, does everything really. It's a pretty bread-and-butter setup but gets me exactly what I want.WellyBlues wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 9:35 pmSo what's the rig now?

Those iLoud micro monitors are so great! I just reconnected mine after using a pair of Genelecs for the last 8 or 9 months and was shocked at how great they sound

That's a great setup. What model is the Walden? It might be my old oneMolly wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 3:36 amMain guitar is the ex-Slowy '54 Strat reissue, and there's the Baja (with some custom wound pickups made by a guy in Nelson) that sounds great. Not sure, sorry. I bought it immediately after selling my Taylor. Fraction of the price and easily as good. In fact, I didn't like the Taylor much. Just found it hard to play.bender wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 10:15 amThat's a great setup. What model is the Walden? I would've been all over that if I had a bit of cash. It's been on FB for months.
