Mesa DC-10 and DIY 2x12 w/ V30s in there. I need another massive amp like another hole in the face but being the Mesa slut I am the FOMO was real. I pick it all up Saturday.

DemonFX Simplifier clone, wanted something on my pedalboard for headphone practice and direct recording, sounds so much better than a modeller.

Great amps. Master volume goes from nothing to super loud between 1 and 2NippleWrestler wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 2:07 pm Mesa DC-10 and DIY 2x12 w/ V30s in there. I need another massive amp like another hole in the face but being the Mesa slut I am the FOMO was real. I pick it all up Saturday.

Great amps. Fender cleans and the full saturation with the 5 band in V configuration. I never gelled to the crunch on mine - always sounded a little fake.NippleWrestler wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2024 2:07 pm Mesa DC-10 and DIY 2x12 w/ V30s in there. According to the schematic this doesn't surprise me, there's a resistor in parallel with the input and output of the overall volume pot, a 220k if memory serves, clipping that should restore the regular taper.Green Bastard wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 9:23 pmGreat amps. That reminds me, I need to give you a cock punch for you selling yours, that amp sounded fantastic on stage in your hands!crowbgood1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 9:35 pmGreat amps. Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
I have recently been getting nostalgic about my old Dual Rectifier wanting to get something higher gain to fill that need. (Everything I currently owned is pretty much vintage voiced) I stumbled on this Peavey SS head at a local Pawnshop for not a lot and decided it was worth a go. I might need to make a public apology to the Peavey SS advocates as it has surprised me immensely at how good it is. I had some preconceived ideas of what this would be like and bought without even trying it tbh, was thinking if it wasn’t that good I might download a few VH4, Dual Rec, 5150 captures on my ToneX and run them
Through the fx but I was wrong, this has a very satisfying thump through my 4x12 and can be dialed in to give a convincing hot rodded Marshall tone.
First run through below.

I have this theory that solid state (now re-marketed as analog) amps are making a comeback, I mean everything goes in cycles right, tube amps have had their heyday again and its time for the solid state to shine again!

That riff you were playing features in the tv series The Bear quite a bit. Sounds really good btw!
Loving it so far

Ahh misunderstood, no I haven’t heard of the Bear but might have look to into it, it’s a riff by The Refused from the shape of punk to come, a reasonably influential album for me back in the day.

Roland, Jazz Chorus has never gone out of fashion, but I do notice they are fetching a handsome sum these days.

DJW Amp and an Aria Pro II P Bass from 1976. Similar to the one I had in the 80's.
