There's a Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 5 HH relisted on TradeMe with a starting price of 2k. It ran for a week without any buyers so the seller has relisted it, so it's likely the starting bid would win.
It's tempting but I can't justify 2k on a 5 string bass guitar right now. But damn that could be a great deal
Toany has one. Maybe have a chinwag with him
2K sell price is great for the buyer
A 4 string 3 EQ 2002 Stingray went for $3260 last week

I have a Stingray Special 5 HH and it’s my best bass by a mile.
They get excellent tones although I think the best are Bridge, inner coils, outer coils positions.
I have mine currently modded to single H, 2 band eq with a John East mid module, and a Seymour Duncan Alnico Humbucker and it slays.
HH makes it very versatile though - outer coils are Jazz-like, inner is a beefy P.

Ah thank you for that but I'm not looking for a new bass guitar... right now.
I haven't yet recovered from my visit to Conway; the Novo GAS is strong.
Was browsing their site and I'm startled to discover I really like both of these guitars as visual statements. In other words, they look freakin cool!

It's sparkly which is always the wrong answer.
But still..

I looked at this and thought, 'Yuck'.
But it reminds me of the pressed metal toys my father played with as a youngster.
It's awful. But so awful it's great. I would own this in a heartbeat.

Dear Slowy, you always had impeccable taste... has your mind been melted?
Once you've played one of these, anything else can be easily forgiven
But yes, I too was surprised.

Treat yourself, Slowy. Unless it prevents a bill being paid or it makes you go hungry, I reckon go for it.

If we don’t keep talking about the Novos maybe we’ll forget about the things we can’t afford and the GAS will go away?
Killjoy.

Are Novos the new Doozies?
Yeah, I think so.
But they have something special; it was present in the Fanos I met as well. You pick them up for the first time and they feel like you've been playing them for years.

Well how about you buy it and I can stop obsessing then?

You do realise Conway has 2 of them?
