NAD/Greetings from India

Post by blackstratblues »

Hey Guys

As a few of you know, I'm over in India doing gigs and sessions till early next year. I just had the oppurtunity to pick up an amp I've lusted after for a few years: the Suhr/CAA OD100 Classic+ - essentially a Fender Twin and Marshall Plexi in a box. Just had a play this evening - I'm loving it! Goes super well with my strats and pedals, and is loud as fuck! Also sounds pretty damn good at low volumes, thanks to the effects return knob at the back. Can't wait for some local gigs where I travel by road - with a flight case it's gona be impossible to get onto most domestic flights here : )

Here's a stock pic, gonna see if I can upload some pics soon.

Cool, where are you playing? What do you play?

I've been here since March and haven't found much in the way of live music... most bands here are a bit too 'Hotel California' for my liking.

Cool - to me the amp is very understated in terms of looks. Looks a bit like those Chinese knock offs...no offence intended. I mean, how an amp looks is irrelevant really.

Awesome score! The OD100 is a great amp.... Would love to get it next to the SLO sometime when you're back in NZ...

You're in Gurgaon? You just missed a really nice gig a few days back (Garden of Five Senses, New Delhi) with 6 guitar players! Hopefully we may be taking that gig on the road. I'm playing HRC Delhi on the 23rd with my old band Zero, and maybe a few more with my current project Blackstratblues.

While that would have been awesome, I'm actually gonna leave the OD100 here in India so I don't have to cart too much gear over every time I come over. I've got an old Marshall JMP that's currently at Suhr's shop for a mod, that gets shipped to Auckland when done. Essentially it's morphing into Ch2 of this amp with an effects loop. I'll bring her over for sure : )
