Not the easiest thing to come by eitherSlowy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 2:37 pm I'd seriously recommend my ZT Lunchbox. Sounds good with pedals, can easily drive a half stack if you want it to, and it's as portable as your actual lunchbox.
Only thing to be wary of is they project. It might sound fine to you, but folks 2 doors down ask if you really need to be that loud?

Saw that. It would be really loud.

Not a combo, but what about a Vox MV50? Such great little units, and the 'Clean' version is perfect as a pedal platform. Often on sale for the mid $200s
I want all the pedals!

If a Katana was good for everything else but the temptation of infinite tweaking was overwhelming, a Blues Cube Stage might be the right call. Great pedal platform, legit in my opinion still the best clean tone of any amp we make (I prefer a bit of squish over the classic JC), and zero advanced editing functionality haha.
Even Nextone amps have editors and lots of amp tweaking parameters, so that's probably not right either.

Thats an interesting point. I was talking with a guy a while back about how his (cheaper) amp sounded just as good as (insert far more expensive, cork sniffery amp of similar heritage here) with the right tweaking. But I just don't wanna. I've had the Mesas, the Bogner Duende springs to mind, the Ecstasy etc which are absolute kick-ass, but if I don't get that great sound in 11 seconds of whirling knobs, I'm already gone. The thing that genuinely great amps seem to have for people like me is an immediate 'great tone', and good solid state amps seem to get there off the bat whereas most tubes need a massage, a particular volume level required, the preamps cooking etc etc. They also do it at almost every volume.slash-ed wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 10:41 am If a Katana was good for everything else but the temptation of infinite tweaking was overwhelming, a Blues Cube Stage might be the right call. Edit: I own none, I'm way too concerned with peer pressure to buy a solid state.

I have an Orange Crush 35T. It's a sweet little amp, does all the right things. Switchable Clean/Gain channels, digital spring reverb, pedal loop, headphones output, built in tuner(!)

Splitter box. The amp doesn't recognise impedance as a thing.Kris wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:35 pmi dont see how you could run them all, but maybe that wasnt the persons intent when they bought the second ext.vintage52 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 7:28 amhttps://www.themusicwarehouse.co.nz/col ... fiers-bags

You can also switch off the combo speaker.

If anyone is ever in the market and it doesn't mean "giving away" the amp, I would consider moving mine.
One of the earlier models with the older style footswitch.

Doh,of course. I guess i was being too logical and thinking of the why rather than the how.

Probably not a good practice amp choice though...
