Line 6 Spider. The one with the drum loop machine built into it. Would still recommend one to beginners.
Even did a couple gigs with it. Then my band mate bought a DSL 40c and I was trying to work out why his tone was so much better than mine. So I bought a Jet City 22h. Now I have 3 Jet City amps, all modded haha

Me in centre with an orange coloured Holden solid state thing, Evans echo tape delay on top, with a Hondo headless bass. At age 22 in 1985, first gig only been playing about 6 weeks, didn't know shit. I think we sucked but mostly they dug it. I've searched for more detail on the Holden but find none for that particular one, can't remember it's model name. Cab looked great, wish I still had it, and the tape delay.

Looking at this thread just enforces my noob-ness. I picked up a classical guitar when I was 10 or so, because mum got us lessons for a few months. That was it... until I bought a Cort acoustic for my 40th birthday, 10 years ago. My first amp followed not long after that, a wee Marshall solid state thingy. Can't even remember what it was! This forum has been solely responsible for the gear merry-go-round through my house!

Mate, I've been playing on and off since I was 13, and it wasn't until I joined this forum that I learned what a tube amp was.

I learned about valve amps when I lived in Whitby for a few years around 2005. My mate was in a blues band, playing a goldtop through a Bassman.

Me too, I put a DS1 in front of it to try and get some sort of high gain noises. It didn't work.
Noticing some have added a bit of a journey through amps, I was thinking about this. For me the Ross RG10 to a 5150 Block Letter half stack. That was a bit of a jump.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll spend thousands on fishing equipment he'll use for a bit, then get bored and move onto something else.

In around 2004 I started keeping a spreadsheet of all the gear I bought and sold and the money I made from gigs etc.

In around 2015 I deleted it, wasn’t stacking up how I wanted it too…
