NAD: Friedman Mini BE

Post by Reg18 »

Yep it’s pretty much a toy, but it’s a Fun toy.
I traded this recently and thought I’d most likely play it for a bit and flick it. (Still might)
But it gives you that grin factor when hitting an open E chord that is pretty satisfying.
It has no clean headroom what so ever so I decide to try my HX Stomp amp models (Princeton reverb, AC30 etc)into the effects loop and it works brilliantly as a 30watt class D amp to run my HX into a guitar cab.
Might keep it around for this reason more than anything actually.
Great wee amp!

You running it through that Hotplate
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Superkewl! She cute!

Is it really just the pedal in amp form? I don't mean that as a bad thing, considering how absurdly good the pedal is.

Apparently it’s the pedal with some tweaks to mate up with the Class D amp. It’s more gain than I would usually use but it makes me smile when I use it so that must count for something right?

A slight generalisation, but a lot of solid-state amps, especially those based around op-amps are essential just that. An tweaked pedal topology into a power amp. They usually use a dual power supply for increased headroom etc but if you are familiar with pedals, you wouldn't be totally lost looking inside one.

This amp seems like it wants to play Motley Crue!
Who am I to argue?
